COLOR AND COCKTAILS: Sapphires, Emeralds and Rubies, Oh My!! turns colored gemstones into the guest of honor, with an educational talk beginning at 4:45 alongside cocktails built around the evening’s theme. Leading the conversation is David Gross, who grew up in Manhattan’s Diamond District as the third generation of a family that has supplied diamonds to Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, and Van Cleef & Arpels for nearly a century. In 2013, Gross founded the David Gross Group to focus on rare colored gemstones, personally selecting each stone and overseeing every piece from concept through final execution. Expect a rare, firsthand look at what separates an exceptional sapphire, emerald, or ruby from an ordinary one — straight from someone who has spent a lifetime handling the difference.
