MICHELLE AND LAUREN SARANTOPULOS

Exploring their love of wildlife and nature through art, Michelle and Lauren Sarantopulos’ work strives to capture the playful and organic patterns that persist throughout the natural world. Although they have distinct styles, the mother-and-daughter duo’s collaborative projects harmoniously join together to form an aesthetic, unified, body of work.

Having lived in the West most of their lives, Michelle and Lauren’s work is inspired by the wild landscapes and animals they have spent years painting. Serving as proof of their passionate involvement, the surfaces of the artists’ pieces are composed of Venetian plaster for layers and texture and alternating between painting, adding collage elements, photo transferring and incorporating other mediums such as ink, acrylics, oil sticks, graphite and sometimes gold-leaf.

Mother and daughter, friends, colleagues, allies and cheerleaders to one another all at once, Michelle and Lauren believe that their bond is multi-faceted — as well as very advantageous to their art.
