KATHLEEN HOPE
APRIL 15
Kathleen Hope works in cement — not as provocation, but as genuine discovery. The Fountain Hills, Arizona artist builds her paintings from custom-developed mixes of cement, plaster, marble dust, dried pigment, paper, and ink, layering them into surfaces that read as simultaneously sculptural and painterly. Color drives the process from the start: her background in interior design and color psychology shapes a practice where each work is calibrated to feel, as she puts it, “lived in.” That quality has made her abstract work a favorite with institutional collectors as well as private ones — her paintings hang in the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and the Omni Tempe Hotel, among other public and corporate collections across the Southwest.
