Sutra Jewels: Warmth and Depth
Sutra Jewels was founded in 2008 by designer Arpita Navlakha and her husband, Divyanshu Navlakha, shortly after both graduated from the Gemological Institute of America. The house works in a vocabulary immediately its own: rose-cut diamonds - faceted for warmth and depth rather than maximum brilliance - set against sapphires and rubies in 18-karat gold, often blackened to throw the stones into sharper relief. Signature pieces include flexible mesh cuffs, bubble-textured bangles, and fan- and flowershaped drop earrings, each engineered to move with the body rather than sit rigid against it. Sutra favors generous carat weights and saturated color over minimalism, giving each piece real presence without tipping into excess - the rose-cut technique itself trades some sparkle for a softer, more romantic glow.
